Standing at massive 12500 FT ASL high Shumga top ridge in Great Himakayan National Park, Sainj Valley one can actually figure out the difference in the views of the parts where humanity is there and not!
And just imagine doing that in lot of virgin snow all around!

 Grade : Easy to Moderate
 Max Altitude : 12,500 Ft.
 Approximate Trekking Km : 20 Kms
 Approximate Temp Range : 5 ℃ to -10 ℃

 

 Participant should be between 11 to 55 years of age by the start date of trek and can be of any nationality and gender
 
Participant should have experience of at least one high altitude trek (above 8000 ft ASL)

 Participant must be fit and have sufficient stamina to cover 5 km of distance in 45 minutes without a stress
 Participant should be able to carry a 10 kg backpack
 Heart problem, high blood pressure, asthma, and epilepsy cannot be reconciled on this trek, participant must not have these conditions

 

 

By Air :-
Kullu Manali airport in Bhuntar is the nearest airport from trek start point Shanghar located about 55 kilometers away.
One can also choose to fly to more busy airport like Chandigarh or Delhi and then can travel by road.

By Train :-
Nearest railway station is Jogindernagar at about 85 kilometers from trek start point Shanghar. Nearest big railway stations are Ambala and Chandigarh

By Bus:-
One can choose any bus coming towards Manali and can get boarded off at Aut which is about 35 kilometers from trek start point Shanghar

DAY 1 | 6300 FT ASL | REACH SHANGHAR
  Arrive in Shanghar
  Checkin to luxury home stay rooms followed by lunch
  Guided acclimatisation hike to Barshanghar waterfall
  Guided visit to Shanghar meadow and Shangchul Mahadev temple
  Witness the beautiful sunset from the meadow before heading to home stay
  Dinner (Veg/Nonveg)
  Stay in rooms

DAY 2 | 6300 to 9000 FT ASL | SHANGHAR – SARA LAKE
  Leave your vehicle and extra stuff at our safe place after breakfast at the stay
  Start hiking through the dense Pine forest above Barshanghar in GHNP Ecozone observing the wild life of Himalayas with snow all around
  Trek for 4-5 hours to reach beautiful Sara lake inside the forest with packed lunch on the way
  Tea/coffee, Bonfire, Snacks (Veg) after sunset
  Dinner (Veg)
  Stay in Tents under million stars at Sara lake
DAY 3 | 9000 to 12500 FT ASL | SARA LAKE – SHUMGA THATCH
  Tea/coffee, Breakfast (Veg/Egg) at camp site
  Today we trek to Shumga Thatch at 12,500 ft ASL
  Have lunch witnessing some unbelievable vistas of high Himalayan ranges around at Rajthati
  Tea/coffee, Bonfire, Snacks (Veg) at Shumga Thatch campsite
  Dinner  (Veg/Nonveg)
  Stay in Tents under million stars at Shumga Thatch

DAY 4 | 12500 to 6800 FT ASL | SHUMGA THATCH – LAPAH

  Tea/coffee, Breakfast (Veg) at camp site
  Do optional hike towards Shumga top at 13,000 ft ASL
  Start trekking down towards Lapah village
  Reach Lapah after 5-6 hours of trekking down with packed lunch on the way
  Overnight stay in Lapah in tents after bonfire and veg dinner

DAY 5 | 6800 to 6300 FT ASL |RETURN
  Breakfast (Veg) in the morning with amazing view of  Great Himalayan National Park before you leave.
  Walk back to Barshanghar. Pickup from Barshanghar.
  Start your return journey after lunch
  Our services end here

 Airtel, Jio, BSNL works in Shanghar

 There will be no connectivity during the trek

Transportation as per the chosen from the available services
One night twin-sharing stay in luxury home stay room and rest stay in twin-sharing dome tents
All unlimited meals and refreshments as per above plan
Certified and experienced trek guide/leader
Porters to carry ration, Cook & helpers for trek, camping equipment and furniture
 Trekking pole, gaiters, ice axe, rope as required, camp furniture
Twin sharing dome tents, dry cleaned mat & winter sleeping bag, separate tent toilets for ladies & gents along with camp stools

Bonfire during trek

 When to book:
It is wise to make your booking at least two months in advance. However, if you want a good deal on your domestic/international flight, we recommend organising your trip at least five months in advance. (Please contact us if you require a late booking)

In the event of cancellation of trek/adventure activity services due to any avoidable / unavoidable reasons we must be notified of the same in writing. Cancellation charges will be effective from the date we receive advice in writing, and cancellation charges would be as follows: –

 Cancellations prior to 30 days from the start of the trek
Choose to go for the same trek in any other batch till one year or get 90% refund of amount paid

 Cancellation between 30 days and 15 days to the start of the trek
Choose to go for the same trek in any other batch till one year or get 80% refund of amount paid

 Cancellation between 15 days and 07 days to the start of the trek
Choose to go for the same trek in any other batch till one year or get 70% refund of amount paid

 Cancellation less than 07 days to the start of the trek
Transfer your trek (same trek, same batch) to your friend. No cash refund.

1) Change of trek batch is dependent on the availability of seats in the batch.
2) In case of transferring a trek to a friend, he/she should satisfy all the mandatory requirements put forward by HMRA.
3) HMRA holds the right to change/cancel the policies/dates/plan as per the situations beyond our control, without prior notice.
4) HMRA does not hold any responsibility related to emergency evacuation/airlift in case of serious health hazards, participant need to understand the risks involved in this trek and be prepared accordingly.
